Terminal Hearts?

We met in silence, during the world’s loudest storm,
When streets were empty, and touch was foreign,
Only voices flickered through screens and nights,
You were my first, my flicker of light.
No hand was held, no glance was shared,
But secrets poured like rain, we both cared.
Months of “almost,” of late-night dreams,
A bond so fragile, stitched in unseen seams.
Then came the gates, the glass, the planes,
Our reunions brief, in love’s remains.
Always the airport, hellos in disguise,
Goodbyes buried in tired eyes.
A drive here, a laugh there,
Moments that said more than we’d dare.
You’re lovable, soft in the corners I hide,
Yet we vanish, like tides that won’t collide.
Five years on, a rhythm on repeat,
Close, then cold, then back on our feet.
Is this love in slow decay, or just paused fate?
Is it too late to fix, or too soon to wait?
Maybe it’s worth it, the ache, the time,
To hold onto a half-written rhyme.
Or maybe it’s kindest, the hardest part,
To let go gently, heart by heart.
But how do you unlearn someone’s soul?
The stories, the laughter, the unspoken whole?
If knowing you deeply now means goodbye,
Then I’ll grieve with grace, and let silence reply.

"Time heals all wounds. Focus on self-love, growth, and positivity. Let go of pain, and welcome new beginnings. You are strong and resilient. Surround yourself with love, and nurture your heart. With patience and care, your heart will heal, and love will bloom again."
